Several of Sweden's websites experienced DDoS attacks yesterday, including the Swedish Police at polisen.se.  The sites weren't offline for very long and are accessible at present.

The attackers motives are currently unknown.

The Local has details in English:

"A number of major Swedish websites were rendered inaccessible on Thursday in what is believed to be a malicious distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. The Swedish authorities have thus far had no success in locating the source of the attack."
